LACK OF ENERGY SUPPLY AS A LIMITING FACTOR FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ÚJSZENTMARGITA

In recent years, due to the uncertainties of the energy market and the increase in energy costs, the issue of energy poverty has become increasingly prominent, especially in disadvantaged settlements. The aim of the study is to explore the local characteristics of energy poverty through the example of the municipality of Újszentmargita. During the research, secondary data were processed, primary data were collected, and a questionnaire survey was conducted, in which 35 households participated. The study highlighted that a significant part of the population living in the settlement is affected by energy poverty due to their low income, outdated residential properties, and high energy costs. Based on the results of the research, proposals were formulated to strengthen local social and energy programs and to develop a long-term energy poverty strategy.
