Characteristics of setting-up the paying agency systems in Slovenia and Hungary

Slovenia and Hungary have belonged to the Member States of the European Union since 1 May 2004. Prerequisite of the Common Agricultural Policy implementation and especially of calling-upon agricultural and rural development subsidies from the EU funds was the design and setting-up of the paying agency administering and controlling EU subsidies. Slovenia has set a very good example throughout designing its paying agency system. Hungary made considerable efforts in the last one and a half – one year in order to overtake its arrears on the field of designing the system and the country has set-up its paying agency system.
