Characteristics of pasture-based animal product production in Közép-Szigetköz

A study of the hydrological, biological and soil research characteristics of Szigetköz throws light upon the fact that the area’s natural qualities guarantee the conditions of pasture-based animal product production. Furthermore, grasslands represent the most favourable proportion of the Közép-Szigetköz area. I have prepared a model for the utilisation of Közép-Szigetköz’s grasslands in the production of animal products, based on the results of these investigations and taking into account the form of grass cultivation, the needs of the animals to be pastured and the methods of keeping them, the form of grass farming, and the area’s rehabilitation and rural economy development plans.
