The retention of young people

The settlement action group based in Hungary’s western border region seeks to promote the retention of young people through its logically constructed programme. Its first task was to uncover the situation of young people living in the area, their living, working and cultural conditions, in order to give appropriate responses to these. They list potential resources alongside decisions on more important solutions. Initial experiences have proven that young graduates starting their careers can be retained or will return home. Training, employment, the activities of the innovation workshop and local government all have an important role to play in this.
