Strategic directions of the Natural Resource Management and rural development Faculty at the Károly Róbert College

The Károly Róbert College launched a new faculty in September 2009, which has a novel structure. The Natural Resource Management and Rural Development Faculty was created by merging five chairs in three institutions, two research institutes and the Erdőtelki Arboretum. The philosophy of the new faculty is based on the intertwining of academic studies and research. Organisational units are therefore two-part: the academic units can rely on the scientific background provided by research institutions. As fitting to its size, the faculty focuses on certain well-defined lines of research, which are rooted in the local conditions and traditions and are also considered unique fields of research of world-class standards.
The Károly Róbert College has adopted a future-oriented policy, whose components – a reform of the current system of academic studies, the introduction of new fields of study, as well as using new high-quality techniques and technologies in research activities – will place the institution on the map of the domestic and international scientific community in this respect as well.
