This comparison was carried out at the Szent István University. The goal of production is to reach an optimal level, by the use of field crops with mineral fertilisation. Depth and methods of soil tillage are not standardised and periodically utilise deep ripping. For the sake of productivity cost reduction, technical development is continuous. The subsoil chisel is the basic mechanism of modern, intensive land use. We discovered from the calculations made in 2005 by FVM experts that primary tillage with a subsoil chisel produces 1,970 HUF of savings per ha. The cost analysis also justifies increased work on technical information that may serve to more widely disseminate primary tillage using a subsoil chisel.
