In a previous issue of Gazdálkodás the more and more accepted mathematical methods and their agricultural applications were presented in the periode of 1959-1972 based on 29 items of papers. This periode served first of all theoretical foundation and getting experiences with various methods. In Hungarian agriculture earlier there was no demand for such methods so theoretical foundation started lately, only the 1968 economic reform accelerated this process. In this new era presentation of theories as well as practical testing of many methods have taken place, thanks to different scientific institutions, among others to journal Gazdálkodás as well. The new economic regime allowed a more liberalized functioning of economy, so future events could be projected on a more sound base. Therefore it was not surprising that in the periode of 1970-1980 areas and methods of mathematical planning frequently occured also in the journal Gazdálkodás.
